Function and Applications
To demonstrate that pressure on the bottom only depends on the height of the liquid column but not on the shape of the vessels (hydrostatic paradox), for the quantitative determination of the hydrostatic pressure, for the investigation of the linear relation between pressure and filling height. Bottom pressure in the inserted vessels filled with liquid deforms a highly elastic rubber diaphragm; this deformation is transmitted to the measuring pointer. Vessels made of glass.
