Learn to recognize possible tests for protein and examine various foods for protein. Proteins differ from carbohydrates and fats in containing nitrogen. In some there is also phosphorus or sulphur. Hence they cannot be replaced by carbohydrates or fats. Proteins build up the body and promote its growth.
