Principle

The convex lens with f = +100 mm is recommended for this experiment, so that the object and the image distances can be large enough to allow sufficient space for working with the diaphragm between the lens and the screen.

Benefits

  • Multifunctional light box - All-in-one: Can be used for geometric optics on the table, colour mixing and on an optical bench
  • Extension with others sets at anytime, no additional light sources needed, recognition value for students

Tasks

What effect does the placement of a diaphragm have on the quality of lens images? Investigate whether and how the image formed by a convex lens changes when a diaphragm to limit the light beam is placed at different positions in the light path.
