Principle

The students will observe an electric circuit with two light bulbs connected in series as well as in parallel. They will determine that a connection in series requires all consumers intact whereas a consumer in a parallel connection is not affected by the malfunction of another. They will conclude that the set-up of a circuit is essential to the behaviour of the connected consumers and that both set-ups, a connection in parallel as well as in series, reveal different upsides and downsides regarding the intended purposes.

Benefits

  • Experiment guides are very easy to understand, especially for younger students
  • Associated competences are directly linked to the experiments
  • Curriculum compatible
  • Fit for the future: implementation of tablets possible
