Principle

The calibrated force gauge has a measuring range of 2 N. The intervals of the graduation marks on the scale are equal in this range. If the load on the spring in the force gauge were to be increased beyond this range, its extension would no longer be linear and the divisions for 0.1 N, for example, would have different sizes at different points on the scale.
